Buried Warrenton cemetery. She was the daughter of Lawson Alexander Heflin and Ann Eliza Heflin.”[3383] “His wife Susan died at the house of her son…”[3384] Susan Elizabeth (Heflin) (7 June 1837–15 August 1930) on 20 January 1858.[3385] His wife’s parents were Ann Eliza (Heflin) and Lawson Heflin. Her maternal grandfather was William Heflin. Her father was “a farmer and a native of Fauquier County….”[3386] They wed on 21 January 1858. Her parents were Ann Eliza (Heflin) and Lawson Alexander Heflin. She was born and died in Fauquier County; died at 7 a. m.; is buried at Warrenton Cemetery.[3387] Died: “[I]n Warrenton on Main Street at the home of his daughter…”[3388] “13 June 1906, …. William Winston (11 February 1865–24 November 1946) wed Annie Franklin Cooke on 16 November 1887. Julus C. (14 September 1867–16 January 1953) wed Mary Matilda Reid in 1894. Mary Elizabeth (24 April 1869–2 October 1966) wed first Ashton Ramey on 16 November 1887, second Emmet Honey in 1890. Temple Richardson (19 May 1873–16 June 1923) wed Gertrude Ashby Martyn on 24 October 1899. Helena (June 1874–18 February 1949) wed W. Ernest Bishop on 21 August 1894. Maurice (13 May 1876–1 November 1946) wed Lucy Ann MacDonald on 17 November 1897. Lester Lynwood (23 June 1878–28 December 1918) wed Rosa Marion Grubbs on 4 January 1899.[3392] Lena,[3393] who wed Ernest Bishop.[3394] Maurice,[3395] who wed Lucy,[3396] and had a son Ashton Douglas Schwab.[3397] Parents and Siblings: Helena Katz (8 Nov 1803–30 July 1870) and Joseph Maier Schwab (September 1799–2 March 1883). Joseph Schwab was born in Uchlfeld (Bavaria) Germany. Hiemele (Helene) Katz was born in Adelsdorf (Baveria) Germany. Both died in Fuerth (Baveria) Germany.[3398] He was one of ten siblings, “all born in Uchlfeld—now Baveria—Germany”: Israel; Bette; Issac; Abraham [BH]; Rosa; Leopold Lehman; Babett; Jacob Wolf; Morriz; Alexander.[3399] Other Family: His paternal grandparents were Friedel and Moses Schwab.[3400] His grandson was Ashton Douglas Schwab.[3401] Stories, Letters & Biographies: “He was born Abraham but changed his name to Anton when he came to Fauquier County, Virginia,…”[3402] See Biographies Chapter. Additional Information: Discharged 5 April 1865.[3403] “‘Antonio (Anton) Schwab’ enlisted in 1861 in Company H, 4th Regiment, Virginia Cavalry, as [a] private.” He enlisted in Fairfax for four or six months.[3404] “Anton as a boy learned much about business in a bakery and confectionery store. His father was a hop dealer, buying hops on a large scale.” “Like so many others, he [Anton] found the enforced military duty [in Bavaria] distasteful, and when he was about eighteen years of age he left his native land and came to America. When the war broke out he proved his good citizenship by becoming a soldier in his adopted state.” “There was no hesitation on his part in proving his allegiance to Virginia, and he joined the Black Horse Cavalry early in the war and followed the fortune of the South until near the end, when he was discharged. He was never wounded or captured.” “After the war was over he [Anton] resumed merchandising, and for a time was located in the hamlet of Waterloo and later was in business at Warrenton. When he retired from merchandising he bought the old Allen farm, Engleside….”[3405] More about him might be found at reference.[3406]
