      Company H, 4th Virginia Cavalry, C. S. A.

The Black Horse Cavalry was part of Williams Carter Wickam's 4th Virginia Cavalry, Fitz Lee's Division, J. E. B. Stuart's Cavalry Corps, Army of Northern Virginia. They were mustered in Fauquier County, Virginia, and were escorts to General Stonewall Jackson.

Black Horse Press is finalizing the research and completing the book started by Lynn Hopewell about this famous cavalry company.

In order to meet production deadlines, Black Horse Press is no longer taking new genealogical information for the Register. Biographical narratives will be considered. Photographs of the cavalrymen are welcome.

Please note: Black Horse Press is concerned only with members of the Black Horse Company that was part of the Confederate States Army. Black Horse Press is not an equestrian group. People interested in equestrian topics should see Black Horse Troop (external site).
